Hello:
Originally this year, I was going to take a dual-enrollment history class during second semester. (My school uses the block system, where we take four classes one semester and four different classes the next). I said I was taking this class on my early action applications. Then I found out this wouldn’t work with my schedule (I found this out right before January 1), so I said I would be taking AP US History, which was a class I heard was open second semester. However, when I talked to my guidance counselor about this, she said I shouldn’t be taking four AP courses and told me to take a study hall during that period. So now I am taking 3 classes (Second Semester has already begun): AP English Literature, AP Calculus BC, & AP Environmental Science.
How do I tell the colleges to which I applied about this change of plans?
Will this affect my chances of getting into top universities or liberal arts colleges?
Will my acceptance be rescinded at the colleges that accepted me early action (Georgetown & Boston College)?
Anyone?
You have to let the schools know. – both the EA schools and the RD schools. Your guidance counselor is probably a good person to speak with.
You have to indicate that this was a requirement by your GC when you notify colleges. They’re not likely to care much.
