Dropping a dual-enroll class

<p>This year I began taking an online calculus course at a community college and it was one of the worst academic decisions I have ever made. Right now I had a D in the course and I was wondering if dropping it would hurt my chances at college admissions. I have applied early to the University of Michigan and I am waiting to hear from them and I will also be applying to Wisconsin, Colorado Boulder and Duke. Would dropping it and getting a W on my college transcript have a sever adverse affect on my chances at getting into the schools I haven't applied to or potential get my Michigan admission rescinded? </p>

<p>This year I am taking my online calculus, Biology 2, Anatomy A, French 4 and Yearbook.</p>

<p>No way to know. It would probably be better than getting a D, though.</p>

<p>If you’re still allowed to drop it, drop it. A W doesn’t hurt your GPA; just make sure it’s not a WF. Colleges normally offer tutoring or would probably let you sit in on a class.</p>

<p>I am going in to see if I can sit in on the class this week. I checked with the college and it would count as a W. I’m also going to see about taking it pass/fail.</p>
