Okay, so on my Resume/Extracurricular Experience sheet, I marked that I was accepted into the County, Region, and All-State Band in my 12th grade year when I sent out the Resume.

3 Months later, I made it into all 3 again, and already did the county/region bands. However, I really do not want to do the All-State Band...I've done it for 2 years and really have no reason to do it for a 3rd year. To me, it's a waste of money, time and energy...

I've been accepted already...will that college care if I don't attend the rehersals? I mean...as long as I was good enough to make it...does it matter? Will they follow and check up? It probably was a big factor in my acceptance (I think).

I don't think they would not accept you, but it might look like you weren't doing it for any other reason than to put it on your app, which won't make you look very good. I mean don't get me wrong most people do the EC's to put them on their app. The point is you need to follow through so the college doesn't think that you aren't commited.

if you've already been accepted, don't worry about it. if they really ask (which they won't) you can say that it was too hard on your family (that's why my family is making me drop Extracurriculars...money/time)

It truly wasn't my idea from the start. My parents ( who are paying for everything ) don't want to waste the money...

And as for commitment...I've been doing all of this since 8th grade...this 1 activity really pales in comparison to the years I've put into music.

I don't know...I mean it's rather redundant for me...I guess I'll ask my counselor or something.

Any other opinions?
