Dropping class after Drop/Add

I am considering dropping a course. How does the process work? Do I get my money back? Does it on my transcript at all?

After the add/drop period you don’t usually get your money back.

There is a drop function in my.fsu.edu.

Are you dropping below 12 credit hours?

If so, you have to have an academic dean approve the course drop. Either in your college (if you’re upper division) or in the stadium in University Center A.

You don’t get your money back after the end of Drop/Add. You will also have to pay back Bright Futures.

If you are not an UD student you have to meet with your dean before being allowed to drop a course. The thing is many LD students want to drop a course for minor reasons and they like to deter students from doing that. If you know you are going to fail and there is no chance, after speaking with the professor, that you can pass the class then proceed.
Once you drop a class before the withdraw date then it will not show on your transcript, if you pass the date then it will show on your transcript as a ‘W’.
If you are an UD student you can simply withdraw from the class from blackboard, and it won’t show on your transcript as long as it is before the deadline to withdraw. Though I would hold off until after speaking with your professor.
Many students panic about their grades, but trust me you may want to take the time to drop by his or her office hours to see if there is a possibility of passing before you take the plunge.

What are LD and UD?

I’m guessing LD is lower division and UD is upper division.
