I’m just curious, how do UCs handle dropped classes. I’m wondering because I think there’s a different system than my community college. At my community college, it goes like this:

Total weeks in a semester: about 16

0-1.5 weeks into the semester: Drop with no penalty/full refund
1.5-3 weeks into the semester: Drop with no penalty/no refund
3-12 weeks into the semester: Drop with ‘W’ notation (you can drop for any reason, teacher permission not required)
12-16 weeks into the semester: You may not drop anymore

How does the dropping system work at UCs? I’m going to UCSB, so I guess I’m looking for the quarter system dropping system (not the semester system of UC Berkeley).
