dry LACs

I'm looking for a good LAC education, but I'm not in to drinking at all. I know drinking and drugs are fairly common at all schools, but where are the best dry LACs (that aren't necessarily Christian schools)?

I know kids at popular party LACs who are not into the whole drinking thing... they don't seem to make a big deal about it and are very happy where they are. I know this is not the answer you're looking for but just realize that there will be plenty of kids just like you who don't want to drink.

.. I am interested in what others say though

im sure you can find one, but i would recommend not looking at LACs in the middle of nowhere. look for city schools, there is much more to do in the city. schools in the middle of nowhere are much more prone to be "drinking schools"

i go to a LAC with a dry campus and even though it's a dry campus, kids still drink - they just do it off campus. but there are tons of people, like yourself, who also don't want to drink. i don't see it being a huge problem.

thanks guys

what is an 'LAC'?

Wheaton is really dry

LAC = liberal arts college

Bob Jones University. Drinking is banned, along with dancing and rock n' roll.

Hahaha...

Although I'm looking for a dry campus, I don't want a psycho-conservative one (Bob Jones).

bob jones is definetly not a LAC

Earlham College is dry (it's a Quaker school, but dramatically unlike a Bob jones or even Wheaton, I believe.)

You don't need a "dry LAC" if you're not into drinking. Every LAC will have lots of students who are not into drugs and don't drink. Many LACs also have substance-free dorms (which appeal to people like you) and often clubs specifically for students who think that you don't need to get drunk to have fun (what a concept!). I don't think you need to worry about being marginalized b/c you don't drink.
