Hi Guys,

I just wanted to know how the dual enrollment credits work at UF. How is it added to your transcript? Do they take the actual letter grade received and add it towards your GPA or do they do just a pass or fail type of system? I've been working hard maintaining a 4.0 with my 25 credits and am hoping they actually count the grades.

Also additional question. I am taking the SAT in November, and the scores won't be released until November 24th. Would that allow me to apply for the November 1st application deadline.

Thanks for your help!

DE credits at a CC give you credits for UF but does not factor into UF GPA. Also, if you are thinking about applying to graduate school after an undergrad at UF then consider retaking core classes because the university-level courses are taught at a much higher level than at at CC, and admissions officers know that.

Apply for the Nov. 1 deadline and the deadline to turn in SAT/ACT scores is sometime in December, look up the date to be exact.

^^^ Woah. Very misleading information.

Your recalculated GPA according to UF admissions DOES take into account dual enrollment classes (why would you work so hard if they didn’t?)

What this poster is talking about is your “UF GPA” for current students. Once you are a student at UF, your “UF GPA” starts at 0.00, regardless of your GPA at the college you attended.

So yes, your 4.0 dual enrollment GPA means a lot for getting into UF! Good job

I took the classes at FSU, not a CC, which I think is about the same standards as UF ( maybe a little lower). Do you still think I should retake them? Thanks for your help.

I was asking about my UF GPA, but thank you for making it clear. Its unfortunate that the classes won’t count towards the UF GPA, but at least its being counted in my HS GPA.

Oh if you took them at FSU then that is fine, don’t retake them and you should go on to other courses of your choosing.

What is this about misleading information…of course I was talking about UF GPA, I said that in my post…

Whenever you apply to anything after your undergraduates you will likely send your transcripts from all colleges/universities you have attended, so your work is still valuable; it would not be fair anyways to have outside courses be factored into a UF GPA.

There’s a difference between what people on here call “UF GPA” (for admissions) and your UF GPA once you are a student. I was clarifying that.

Most people don’t retake classes if they already have DE or transfer credit… and why you would want to is beyond me (especially if you took them at fsu) but definitely speak to an adviser about what classes you would feel you need to retake, if any
