I'm planning on sending my daughter to the local community college for 11th and 12th grades to take Beginning and Intermediate Spanish.

She also wants to take History there as well (it's one of her favorite subjects!).

They only offer two classes: United States History and History of Western Civilization. She's already taken U.S. History at home (9th grade) and World History at home (10th grade).

Would it look bad on her transcript for her to take them again at the community college? Or would they view that separately, since they're college-level classes vs. high-school level classes?

Or should she plan on taking something in the social sciences, such as psychology or sociology?

Personally, I think it's more important for her to pursue her interest than for her to worry about how many different social sciences she has covered. If she's done nothing but history, it could be a problem. However, if the rest of her curriculum is varied, I think it's fine for a homeschooler to go from high school level classes to college level in the same subject.

I'm sure there's much to be said for variety, and maybe she'll get a chance to take some of those other classes, but keep in mind that colleges are looking for students with clear passions and enough gumption to pursue them. One of the things that makes homeschool applicants unique is that they have the opportunity to do this. A demonstrated burning interest in history could be a hook.
