I have taken classes at GSU as a dual enrollment student, and I am applying soon for undergraduate admissions. Do I need to send a transcript to GSU? I know I need to send my dual enrollment grades to other colleges I’m applying to but I’m assuming I dont have to send them in the GSU since this is the school I’ve completed the classes at.
If you’re a dual enrollment student your grades will show up on your high school transcript and you shouldn’t need to send in the transcript from GSU.
I wouldn’t assume the admissions office has easy access to the registrar’s office. Call or email and ask. Bureaucracies can have crazy rules. Everything might be fine, and yes, DE grades should show up on your HS transcript, but you don’t want a silly technicality keeping your application from being complete or holding up your decision.
This isn’t always the case. Some schools don’t list DE classes on the HS transcript and some schools have a different way that they grade the class for HS credit vs how it is graded for the college credit on the college transcript. I would ASSUME that you don’t need to request that GSU send a transcript to GSU, but you could clear up any doubts with a phone call tomorrow.
Ask GSU admissions if it will have access to your GSU college record.
^^^^ Exactly.
You are obligated to provide official copies of all transcripts when you apply for admission to a degree program. However, given that the degree program is at a place where you already have a transcript, you need to ask the admissions office what it is that you need to do. They will have a process for you to follow. And yes, you may well find out that you have to pay the $XX to have that transcript sent from one office on campus to another.
