Dual Enrollment

My high school offers dual enrollment classes through a local community college. These are considered to be the most rigorous classes at my school. Next year, I will be taking dual credit Chemistry, Calculus, and Psychology. Will these count towards my pre-reqs?

Yes, they will. Additionally, these and any other courses you complete thru dual enrollment are required to be reported to AMCAS when you apply and will be included when calculating your GPA/sGPA.

Be aware there are a small number of medical schools which either will not accept CC credits for pre-reqs or will require any CC credits be supplemented by upper level coursework in the same field at a 4 year college/university.

Do you have an option to take these at 4 year UG instead of CC?
Another option is to take regular AP classes. D. had no problem with getting credits for her AP. While she used Math and English AP credits for her Med. School pre-reqs, she did not skip the very first college Bio (current students and ore-med advisor recommendation). Good that she took it because her very first college Bio went thru AP material in the first 2 weeks and then they moved on into new material wich was a foundation for more advanced Bio classes. So, what you take depends not only on your cedits bu also on your UG program. You should figure out before you decide to skip or not the first Bio, Chem. classes, while Calc could be just fine, you do not need much Calc in future any way. Actually Stats are more useful for Med. School than Calc.
