Okay so I took a dual enrollment class that I got a 100 in. It’s not going to appear on my high school transcript because my school actually does not work with the program, I just basically forced my retarded school administration…after much debate… to let me take it. So anyways, I am going to have to send 2 separate transcripts to colleges. On the one from the state university, will they see that I got a 100 in the class or just see that i got an A? The problem is that I don’t go to a competitive high school and grades are seriously inflated, especially for those who score low. It’s not fair to people like me who naturally get high scores. I want to prove that I am capable of getting high scores no matter what and that it’s not just my high school inflating my grades. So is there anyway for admissions officers to see my actual point grade on my college transcript? I have no idea how it works and my guidance counselors are absolutely no help.
College transcripts usually (perhaps always) show final letter grades. Without detailed context someone (such as a admissions officer) is unlikely to see the fine distinction between “100” and an A grade. If this class is especially important and difficult (something like differential equations or equivalent advanced class in a quantitative subject) then perhaps the college professor can write a recommendation for you.
@fogcity Okay, thank you.
the professor should definitely write you a letter of recommendation. Ask ASAP though, and send reminders throughout (suitably spaced out, of course).
You’ll just see the A like on a college transcript. Very few, if any, colleges give out percentile grades. It’d be nice I guess, but as someone who has averaged 99+ in 10 courses, my transcript shows the same as if I had gotten 90s. Sucks but that’s just how it is.
