Duke 2015 Hopefuls!

Im gonna do ED and im thinking economics for the major

I might apply RD, I might not. If I do, it’ll be economics.

Hey! I just fell in love with Duke recently, and I’m visiting on Wednesday!
I’m pretty sure I’m going to apply ED

Probably Chemistry or Biology/Political Science double major with a Asian Languages (Chinese) minor if I can. I have very diverse interests. Haha.

ED for sure!

lol, DUke applicant pool is getting ever more competitive each year…It’s gonna be brutal this year.

I hope not. I doubt that last year’s ~32% spike in applications will occur again this year

Question is if the number of applications will be the same as last year or not.

I am applying RD

Dude, trust me. More ppl are applying each year. Look at applicant’s pool for the top 10 universities, and you can see that all of them have experienced an increasing trend. For some schools (Chicago), a huge one.

^I’m not disputing the fact that more people are applying to colleges each year. I just don’t think that Duke’s applicant pool (or any school’s for that matter) can increase by over 30% two years in a row. Also, UChicago’s huge spike in applications can be attributed to its adoption of the Common Application.

^Second that!

Meh…go DUke!

I’m on the fence about ED- I love love love Duke and I know being a double-legacy will help me out a lot more in the ED round, but I’m ambivalent about the $$$$ :/

^You could use a financial aid calculator, call an admissions officer to get an estimate of your cost of attendance. ED + Double Legacy is a huge boost.

Ill be applying as well. May the best men (and women) wIN! MUHUHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Go blue devils! :)

Duke hopeful all the way down here in Mississippi!! Applying RD! ED isn’t reasonable for the middle class, unfortunately. But super pumped about Duke!!!

ED! So nervous!

zackfasho – if Duke is your clear first choice - check further into duke’s financial aid policies – actually very generous for “middle class” families – especially middle class by southern standards. We’re from Alabama and our son will be moving in to East Campus on Tuesday! He was accepted ED - No way we could have come close to affording his dream, but after considerable research, we decided that ED was realistic - and we were right! So, check further…
