I have never done one of these before but here it goes...
I am still a SOPHOMORE so everything is subject to change and I will have a lot more APs and honors before I apply for college. Hopefully, by my senior year, I will have a couple more promising leadership positions as well. Please don't be very harsh, I just want to see where I stand.
Schools: Duke, Brown, USC, UCLA, Stanford (know I don't have a chance), U Penn, UT Austin, BU, Columbia... I really love Duke though!

GPA: 3.8 Unweighted (my school has a weird grading system but my transcript consists of A's and a few A-s)
Number of Honors so far: 3 (French II Honors, French III Honors, English II Honors)

Was an intern at a law firm over the summer.

HOOKS:
1st Generation IRANIAN/PERSIAN who speaks fluent farsi
Passionate about architecture, writing, and photography
Almost fluent in French (will be by Sr. year)

Wow you have an amazing chance…
if you keep your grades up, and with Grades like that, get like a 2000+ on SAT, you should be totally fine for DUKE, and pretty sure for BRown too…in addition your ethnic diversity helps in some situations and make sure you somehow reveal your master of different languages to the admissions office, probably in your College Essay or something…
But yea…your doing excellent, keep up the good work…

You definitely have a good chance at those schools if you keep up the stuff you are doing. you have a strong GPA and you have good ECs. Your race is also very unique and thats a good thing for most colleges.
Work on maintaining you GPA, Preparing for standardized tests, and keep doing Ecs you love.
Best of Luck thru High School!

2000 on SAT for Duke and Brown? Try at least 2200.
Your ECs are great, but nothing over-the-top or eye-catching.
But if you do great on your SAT/SAT II, you’ll have a strong chance.

Wow. You seem like somebody I want to sit down and have a cup of coffee with. You’re only 15 or 16 years old, and you’ve already sampled such an eclectic variety of activities! Your bilingual (trilingual?)/first generation/ethnic diversity factors are great, but you seem to stand strong in academics as well. Keep up your grades, succeed on your SATs/ACTs as well as you have in other areas, and stay active. You’re on a great path. I wish you the best of luck, but you probably won’t need it to get into Duke.

Grades are impressive and it looks great considering you go to a top school. Just get at least a 2100 (or something close to it) on your SAT and I think you’ll be a very competitive applicant almost anywhere you apply. It’s good to see you’re challenging yourself since the beginning of your high school career.

Will need higher SAT. I don’t think Iranian counts as URM… Your extracurriculars seem very diverse, not really focused. Take my words with a grain of salt! You still have a good shot at Duke!

:O does this count as a hook? I’m a first generation Lebanese, conversational in French and Arabic, maybe that can get me somewhere.

Also, I think that your GPA is strong alone, and even stronger in the context of the school you’re going to. I think you have a very good chance at Duke. Brown, from what I’ve heard, is a reach.

GPA ok, try to show a little more initiative in your EC. Can’t say much without SAT. You do seem to have interest in French though as displayed by your EC; maybe try starting something French-related around your school/community to show good leadership and interest?

You do need a more rigorous courseload so make that a priority.

So i’d say Duke: Match/Low reach. Do well on the SAT and you’ll look good.
Brown: Low reach.
Stanford: Reach
UCLA: Match/low reach
UPenn: Reach
Columbia: Reach

Overall decent so far. Do better and some of those reach schools may come close, but you still look good for Duke which seems to be your favorite. Good luck
