I know that ED acceptances have been dropping across the years and the numbers of applicants have increased. But this is a general trend, so there will be years that are abnormal. Praying this is one of those years.
tick tock tick tock
Are you guys going ahead and writing college essays for schools in case you donāt get in? Iām so tempted to not start writing another seven essays if I donāt have toā¦ but thatās a lot of work if I end up with 16 days
Iām waiting but Iām only applying to a few schools RD if I donāt get in @BB1313
I already have all my RD apps sent out. Iām gonna be too deep wallowing in grief to want to apply to other schools if I donāt get in.
@BB1313 I am. I am applying to a good number of colleges so I canāt procrastinate too hard.
What other schools are you guys applying to?
Vassar, ASU (in state), Brown, Northwestern, Northeastern, Boston University, USC (sent in my app for merit scholarship consideration), a few more.
Is it weird that Iāve been checking this thread like 7 times a day? Lol December 14th couldnāt come soon enough
By the way, does anyone know exactly how we are supposed to check our decisions?
Theyāll email with the instructions for exactly how we check
I check it a lot too now lol, it makes it more bearable for some reason to know Iām not alone in this.
I had 4-6 colleges on my list for RD if I donāt get in (and applied EA to two state schools) but two of them are Yale and Columbia and if I donāt get into Duke then I seriously doubt my odds thereā¦
Is it confirmed that the decisions are being released on the 14th?
not officially @jshu11 but we should get an email tomorrow or Tuesday
Hi guys, Iām Aasha and Iām from Louisiana. I applied ED and am anxiously awaiting decision day as well. My brother was accepted to Duke last year after he applied ED. They received an email on December 2nd, saying decisions would come out on December 10th. So, whenever we get our email it should be 8 days before we know, if that helps anyone:)
Hey guys, does location play any role in your admissions decision? I wasnāt sure if where you lived played any sort of role or not
@svk12345 Iāve heard being in NC could possibly help but there doesnāt seem to be much evidence besides a high % of admitted students being from there. And ofc international is always a bit harder it seems
Arenāt those also the most competitive states? I know both Texas and California are both really competitive, and they also have high numbers of accepted students.
Coming from someone who applied ED from Long Island New York, I think my chances are extremely slim due to the huge amount of people from my area applying to top tier schools
Oh okay, because Iām from Texas and I havenāt heard of that many people from around here applying to Duke ED. A lot of Texas kids Iāve seen have applied to Rice ED(not sure why, just something Iāve noticed). Idk I just keep thinking about all these little things and wondering if they have any bearing on the decisions lol
