Duke Class of 2022 Discussion Thread

@Samim35 ight thx i was thinking that too although i’m applying to Trinity. I send my 680 anyways cuz they strongly recommended subjects test scores. Hoping my essays will get in lol

Can anyone get into the duke portal? I made an account but im just getting a blank screen

@lefty10 I was getting that problem too, but if you try to login, close the page that is a blank screen, and then reopen the link, it should open up the portal. At least it did for me.

When do interviews start for ED applicants?

My son had an interview last Friday.

My son’s advisor sent 1st QTR report through common app-optional document.

I applied ED on nov 1, so should I have gotten a confirmation email from Duke? They haven’t sent me anything where I can check my app status yet, but maybe it’s just taking a while

You should receive a confirmation letter from Duke shortly.

works for me now

hey guys!! I applied ED on October 11, and still haven’t heard anything about an interview. I’m a little worried since I know I live near a large alumnus area (Cleveland, OH). any suggestions?

I’ve heard that Duke is still seeking alumni volunteers to conduct interviews in some areas.

Kind of freaking out because I applied on October 29, and I still haven’t been contact for an interview. I live in a very big and well-known city, so I can’t think of any reasons why I wouldn’t be offered an interview.

hey guys!! i applied mid-October for ED and received an email for an interview about a week later. The person who I interviewed with told me Duke wants them to have their notes/comments/etc in by mid-November. I think i interviewed on the 29th. (hope this helps anyone who is wondering – maybe they don’t have enough interviewers or time if you haven’t been contacted yet??) Super excited for results to come out I can’t wait!!!

Hey guys! I’m an international (Canadian) high school student who recently applied ED to Duke. I had a few questions…

  1. I don’t think I will be getting an interview because there are no duke alumni in my area; will this leave me at a disadvantage?
  2. my brother graduated from duke (undergrad) several years ago. Would this perhaps put me at an advantage?
  3. is the rate of acceptance for international students much lower than that of US students?
    Thanks!
    Fingers crossed I get in…

Lion,

  1. No disadvantage to not interviewing.
  2. Yes, probably some advantage to having a brother who graduated from Duke. Pretty sure the advantage is similar or same as a legacy -- an extra read of application.
  3. I have no idea about acceptance rates for domestic vs international.

Good luck.

The waiting is the hardest part.

anyone knows when exactly we find out about ED result?

December 15!

I think last year the emails went out at 7:00 PM EST on Dec 14. I have no info on whether this year will be the same.

Hi everyone, I applied to Duke ED on November 1st – excited for results to come out!!
