Mine rejected too. I think I’m more disappointed than her tbh
Could you please tell what you did after the deferral?
Thanks
Daughter got in. Not sure what pushed her into the lucky pile, but my guess is her (stellar, unique) essay. Test scores, recs, grades, extra-curriculars were all excellent, but I feel like that is true for most. Sorry for those feeling disappointed…
Can someone who got deferred share the text of their letter? Curious if it is at all customized.
Congrats to all of those who got in!
Customized. She applied ED as a compsci and art major and talked about visiting the Ruby and interacting with students she met there. Also updated Duke about her achievements and grades.
Can you please share stats or general idea?
Need advice on deferred ED. Daughter is legacy, deferred and sent LOCI and additional letter of recommendation in January. Grades will be sent from Semester 1. Anything else she can do? No real other awards or updates but she wants to do any final pushes that are needed
Seems like she’s done everything she can. Since she was deferred and not rejected, there’s certainly hope.
Good luck!
In our case, for D22’s top choice deferral, her guidance counselor at school offered to send a new LOR. Not sure if that would help but hey a little extra mile wouldn’t hurt either.
Hello All!! Is there anyone out there was deferred last year from ED and then accepted in Regular Decision round - can you offer any good advice or recommendations??? My daughter has been deferred and this is her dream school, just want to give it her best shot - though we know it is a long shot - we want to do everything we can!!
