Whoa solid list of schools there. What are your stats like?

@ patriotsfan1- eh, PM me if you really want to know? I’m not one to post stats and showboat on CC as stats rarely reflect the true nature of an applicant.

i’m applying to columbia, penn, vanderbilt, carnegie mellon, RPI, michigan, wash u, lehigh, lafayette, and rutgers as a safety. I know it’s a lot, but I figure the more schools you apply to, the more likely you are that some of the good ones will say yes. My heart is set on Duke, though.

Hoping to hear something positive from Duke in the next few weeks, but I’m also applying to Penn (Wharton), Princeton, Dartmouth, Emory, Boston College, and Miami.

Right now, I’ve applied to GA Tech, UF & FSU (in-state) and am finishing applications to Carnegie Mellon, Boston University, Vanderbilt, Northeastern, and UPenn. I’m figuring the more schools I apply, the more chance I have, right?

wooo Florida representt!
and I still cant get myself to finish up the rest of my supplements. Emory scholars was harsh enough.

I’m kind of nervous guys. Isn’t a 32 pretty low for ED?

A 32 is not low for ED. You are totally fine applying with a 32. Of course admission to Duke is never a guarantee for anyone, even if you have a perfect score. Middle 50% ACT score is 30-34. If you don’t get in it won’t only be because of a 32. :)

goodtimes77: yeah finishing applications to other schools without knowing about Duke yet seems pointless, though I keep pushing on!

Haha ya I can’t do other apps either!!! when do decisions come out?!?!

december 15 i think

Duke sends an email out to all applicants telling them the exact date and time their decision will be posted. It says somewhere that decisions must be posted before Dec. 16th. Last year it was Dec 14th, and 3 years ago it was the 11th. It usually coincides with a school’s midterm week, unfortunately :/

lawl, just cant stop thinking about that day…whenever it may be

Thanks, guys!

I’m wondering if it will come out early this year at all? I just don’t want to spend the ridiculous amount of money to apply to other colleges when I’m not sure about this one yet, and that makes doing their applications all the more difficult. Though right now, based on feedback from the cc community, I’m assuming I’ll be deferred.

Does anyone know if the admissions office tells the financial aid office someone applied?

Ugh, everything is in except one FA form (the part D tax return or whatever) and my dad says he definitely sent it in on Nov. 15. The other things he sent in are all there… I guess I should tell my dad to send it again, but if it ends up that they didn’t get it, is that going to scrap the whole financial aid application?

Did your dad send it all in together?

Do colleges contact counselors often to do an interview with them? because my counselor said she got a call the other day from Duke saying they were “looking at me”. She didn’t specify what it was for, so I’m just wondering. My guess is they just wanted to ask her questions about my application?

I have heard that they call counselors if they are not very familiar with the school, if they have questions about the school, if they have questions about an applicant/application, etc.

Ohiomom, I think he did because the deadline for 3 separate things was 11/15.
