Duke ED Class of 2023 Discussion Thread

When I login to the application status portal, it says shows only SAT R but note the subject. Is this normal? I had sent my subject scores back in October.

@Bizdock On the portal it clearly states in bold that subject SAT’s and TOEFL/IELTS will not appear as they are optional

Didn’t notice - Thank you! Parent’s paranoia ?

@londontipton I agree and Dean Guttentag recently spoke to alumni in our area and said the acceptance rate for legacies who apply ED is 30%.

@MimiLizbeth That’s not too far off from the ED acceptance rate for everyone.

Does it still say “awaiting FAFSA” on the applicant portal for anyone else? I submitted mine 11/13 and got an email confirmation

my cousin is a duke interviewer for NYC and said just in NYC 200 people applied ed…that’s a lot

@sanjanagupta1: Does your cousin know how many from NYC applied ED last year?

Hey Guys, I have been trying to contact my regional admissions officer, but it keeps on saying that my regional admissions officer wont be available until march. Is this the same for you admissions representative as well.

specifically it says she is not available because they are reading applications

oh that means ur deferred cause you’ll be finding out from duke in march… lol awkward @ppppp9468

does anyone know what day the decisions will come out? the website says the 15th but ive talked to applicants in past years and they said that the duke website said the 15th their years also but then came out earlier. so does anyone know what day that will be?

@qrs2234 it says on the thread last year the 14th

wait so if i call and they respond that means i got in?

yeah definitely @millylopez

how do you know lol

I’m not going to ask anyone to “chance me”, but I am hoping that 85% of the ED applicants (including the athletes & legacies) had 28 ACTs/1390 SATs or lower. I’d also like to think that there were about 500 fewer ED apps this year. This is wishful thinking on my part.

@millylopez im just kidding lol

If you get rejected in the ED round for Duke, can you still apply to Duke Kunshan University for regular decision?

@SlimJim005 Ugh that’d be so nice. If only that were the case…but I heard that there are already more ED apps than last year
