My D had her interview about a month ago. Best of luck
My D had the same issue with Subject Test scores not showing up. They were officially sent but no check. They told her it was there. I hope so.
@vickyvic1 Per earlier posts, subject tests are not mandatory and therefore do not show up on portal. They’re there.
Did anyone received an email from College board regarding a request from Duke requesting tax and w2 documents thru IDOC.
Yep
@kamalk and @DukeNasty : Did you request Financial Aid?
I am a parent. Also a Duke alum. Also I have deep experience interviewing candidates. Finally, yes…we did request financial aid for our daughter. The Answer to the next question that will be asked is NO…I don’t think that means she is automatically “in” and if you haven’t received that communication, it only means your submitted financial aid/tax returns were already in order.
Would Duke request it if you didn’t ask for FA? Thanks for the response.
That I am not sure about and I can’t say this with 100% certainty, but the only reason I see you needing to use IDOC is if you filled out the College Board’s profile seeking financial aid and one of your target institutions requests further clarification. Duke requested further clarification via IDOC for my wife and I, so we sent it. Again…we completed the CSS profile through College Board requesting aid.
Yes we requested the financial aid using CSS and FAFSA profile.
@DukeNasty Thank you.
@DukeNasty : Why Duke will spend time and resources in asking for more documents and reviewing your Financial Aid profile if you are not in. So does it gives any positive signs?
In two weeks we will all know the definitive answer (my spidey sense tells me decisions will drop on the 14th), but my answer is that I don’t see the need to consider additional IDOC info if you aren’t in the pool of candidates that have a shot. However, because you are in the pool of “maybe’s”, doesn’t mean you will be in the final pool of “yes’s”.
All speculation based on my experience of course so take things with a grain of salt, but keep this in mind. Everything right now is out of your hands so relax. You put your best foot forward already. The admissions committee is doing their job and dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s so there is nothing you or anyone else (including myself) can do about things at this point to change the trajectory of things. Go see a movie. Eat at your favorite restaurant. Enjoy time with friends and family and let the chips fall where they may. Oh…and good luck! Duke is a fantastic place and an unbelievable community!
@DukeNasty Thanks for the reply, I 100% agree with you
This may be just me, but I think it was an automated email. This may mean that the computer system just asked everyone based on an automated program or something . On mine it said something like “if you’re an international applicant disregard this for now” and everything. I just don’t want to unnecessarily get anyone’s hopes up!
@londontipton Thank you for that information. I’ve gotten a lot of form emails.
dont yall hate the big red x by the midyear report? It makes me feel like my application is incomplete…
Has anyone that applied for aid not gotten the IDOC request?
I have not gotten any email but did not apply for financial aid either.
Also any idea as to when decisions may be released this year. Heard that it’s always released on a Wednesday or a Thursday. That’s true if you look back at previous years release date. That would mean the 12th or the 13th. Apparently it’s never released on a Friday night.
Any thoughts on this, what have you guys heard?
