This waiting has been unbearable and I can’t focus on anything else. But just remember fellow prospective Blue Devils that your college does not determine who will be, YOU do! We have done everything possible to be even able to apply, now it’s just luck

It’s best to focus on the next applications due. That way, some enthusiasm for other schools can start to take shape.
Guys the admissions office is closed due to the storm so unless someone high up is generously working from home today and would be able to access a very secure email distribution list for all ED applicants, there probably won’t be any announcement today about when the portal will be open. More likely tomorrow.
UChicago just announced on twitter - 17th to release EA & ED. It’s very nice and gives students a heads-up.
I’m a bit disappointed by Duke Admissions office.

I think it’s best to not make ourselves more anxious than we need to be and let things unfold the way they do
Maybe they’ll still announce it today if their admissions office is open. Does anyone know if the weather made them close the office? Even if not, they’ll surely let us know at least before they release decisions. Whatever happens is going to happen and hopefully they’ll be nice to us with it.

yes they’re closed because of weather
It’s too treacherous for staff to drive to Duke. Offices are closed.
Storm Weather Information just sent to the students:
“Just when we thought the last drop of rain, flake of snow and pellet of ice had fallen, the weather goddesses and gods decided to tease us with another band of snow and sleet earlier today.
Given that all of this is likely to freeze overnight and be messy in the morning, Duke officials have extended the severe weather policy to 10 AM Tuesday, December 11.”
Wait I never got that. Anyone else get that email?
@mwolpert27: I’m so sorry. I should have specified that this went to current students at Duke. My daughter is a junior at Pratt.
Just registered this account to join the discussion. Roughly about a week ago I received an email from Duke’s financial aid office asking for some additional info. Is this a good sign at all?
@Anonymous998 No, it’s apparently standard and means nothing. In the past, students, who were ultimately denied admission, received that email.
People need to stop stressing out. We’ll find out sometime this week and worrying about when they’re going to send out the notification email just makes you more anxious. I really want to hear from them too but it’s out of our control so just chill and hope for the best
@Anonymous998 My son is a freshman at Duke. He applied RD to Duke. Six days prior to the decision day, I received an email from Duke Karsh Office of Undergraduate asking for additional information to complete his application. The email also mentioned the correspondence is not an indication of his admission to Duke. But he got in! I am sure that IDOC request means nothing but direct communication from Duke means something. @blazinamazin2023 What additional information Duke financial office ask for? I didn’t receive any email other than the standard IDOC requests from CB.
it’s super weird that I need to give extra financial aid stuff for IDOC and whatnot but I never got emailed about it from anybody? Neither did my mom which is super strange. Im lucky I just kinda checked and noticed it but it won’t let me. Will this affect my acceptance? I figured if it doesnt have anything to do with acceptance I’ll just deal with it after decisions. Being a child of divorced parents i hardly know my father & I feel like getting the IDOC stuff from him isnt worth the emotional poignancy unless I get in. I really hope it doesn’t affect my decision that I dont have it done yet
