On the checklist website, it had originally started with only 3 items (CSS, taxes, and W2) but it keeps on updating and adding more categories, all of which appear after the due date. For example, the CSS profile finally appeared today, but with its addition, the site added a need for additional forms that were supposedly due on the 15th. Will it be a problem if I just submit them now? The site never gave me notice to send those forms.
Thanks

I’m having the exact same problem…

If the requirement appeared after the due date, you can still submit on documents. The the CSS and see if your own a business. Then they ask details about business. Then they go thru what you submitted and then ask any further doc needed. It goes on till you submit all required docs. So due date is not that important here. Just send what the have asked. They might ask more on what you submitted.

Do you think sending the form in email is sufficient?

Call them and ask, though I think that should be fine. (:

Yes. Email is good way of sending the doc quickly.

I called them with a similar question - they didn’t seem worked up about it all, just get things in as soon as you can. Also, the office of admission and the financial aid office are completely separate at Duke so I don’t think it impacts your acceptance decision, in other words, I don’t think admissions has any idea what is going on over at FA.

daphne66 is correct, and this is quite important. By design, for US applicants, Duke’s Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid offices are entirely autonomous. For MANY years, Duke has operated with true “need blind admissions;” therefore, a candidate’s financial situation is not known and is entirely irrelevant to Admissions Officers, the Admissions Office, and the Admissions Committee.

They are separate-- however, please send things in as soon as you can. What’ll happen is the Admissions Office will forward a list of candidates who have been admitted and have financial need to the financial aid office, who will then begin putting together packages for ED students. Since ED is binding unless there is a financial need, you’ll need your FA package along with your ED acceptance-- which means it’s better to get things in sooner rather than later.
