I know that Duke only admits a handful of international students each year... so I want to ask them what do they think got them in? What EC's did they have? How strong were they? What were their essays about? :)

They admit students who they think will be successful in life; be it international or American.

I’ve said this more than once, but no worries: My best friend is currently a freshman at Duke. He had a 1980 on his SAT, 800 790 670 on SATIIs, a 3.7 (top 20%), and an AMAZING essay. He didn’t apply for FA, so that could be another factor to consider. The fact is: He’s a pretty intelligent young man, and Duke saw that.

Thanks for your information!
Even though he proved to be a smart student, the fact that he didn’t apply for FA as an Int’l helped him a lot.

Anyone else care to give their opinions? :)

Lack of FA need helps.

Yes, it does :(
