Duke interview

I am an applicant to Pratt class of 2020. I’m debating whether to submit by the priority deadline (12/20) to get an interview. Is the interview an important factor for admissions at Duke? Is the interview supposed to be mainly informational like Northwestern’s? And does anyone have a chart where it says which things are Most Important, Least Important, and Not Considered for Pratt?
Thanks

The interview is not weighted heavily in the ultimate admission decision. That being said, why would you not want an interview? It is a chance to 1) demonstrate what differentiates you from 30,000 other applicants; and 2) learn more about Duke. If you’re not really interested in Duke, you should not apply.

The interview has the potential to kill your application if you send up any red flags to your interviewer, but Interviewers generally want you to do well.

It wasn’t so much an interview when I went but a conversation about Duke and how I could pursue my passions using various facets of Duke. It’s not difficult, just find some programs that reflect your passions and go with it.

The interview counts, but not a lot. Most of the candidates that I’ve interviewed are happy to hear about Duke.

If offered an interview, take it. If you voluntarily turn down an interview request it looks bad. However if you are not offered an interview it probably won’t make a difference.
