I know that duke offers a few highly selective full ride merit based scholarships and wanted to know (if anyone themselves has received one, or if someone you know has) if they applied during ED or RD. It just seems to me that these scholarships would be offered as an incentive for a student to attend the school (but I can also see a school wanting to ensure that they aren’t offering a full ride to a student they aren’t even sure will attend). If anyone has any knowledge about merit offers for duke (and if you’re more likely to receive a merit scholarship if your apply ed or rd) please let me know !
Merit scholarships are very few at Duke, to attract top applicants in RD, who may have admission offers from better schools.
ED students are required to attend, unless FA is insufficient.
Duke has generous need based aid and you can check NPC.
D applied Robertson and Duke RD. She was admitted and Robertson finalist. At the finalist interviews, every one of them had multiple offers from Ivy’s, MIT, Stanford, U Chicago, etc.
