Duke or Georgetown?

I am completely, 100 percent torn on this one. I wanted to get some other opinions, and anything will help.

I would like to study political science and go into International Law in law school in 4 years or so.

Some questions to answer:

What is more prestigious?

What is more FUN?

What has nicer people?

I posted this in Georgetown's forums too so that I could get more opinions.

I have a friend that went to Georgetown and my cousin went to Duke.

My advice - go to Duke.
Why?
Georgetown is highly overrated academically (of course all you need to do it check out the national rankings if you’re not sure on this one:Duke is like 7 or 8th, Georgetown is twenty something). If you are looking for academic prestige= Duke. Globally, most know Duke.
Few know of Georgetown, and if they do, Duke is more respected.

Duke is a happier place to be. EVERYONE at Georgetown seems UNHAPPY, still wishing he or she were at an Ivy - but got rejected (it seems as if GT is trying to boost their rankings, so they just let in stats, as opposed to admitting students that really want to be there). Whereas, EVERYONE at Duke wants to be there.

Georgetown does have DC, and that’s nice. But the campus of Duke rivals Princeton.

Hey, congrats!

Thanks man, I think I am definitely leaning towards Duke!

I agree: Duke is more prestigious, more fun, and has nicer people.

Even though int’l relations/poli sci is Georgetown’s best department, I’m sure you will have just as many opportuninties in that field at Duke, and you will meet all kinds of interesteing people. Everyone at Gtown seemed stuck-up and competitive when I visited, but the Duke kids are a great mix, and much more culturally and intellectually diverse. (there is the sports culture if you’re into that, math/science types, artsy kids, southern folks, etc., etc… plus great parties and events)
I’m biased, of course, but I think you’re leaning in the right direction
