how do you get into duke or stanford? I know there's no one right way, but I have about 3 years before applying, and I want to be a doc or an engineer. What EC's should I do(at school clubs ,volunteering, etc..) that will boost my chances? Thanks

Could you tell me like the avg resume(gpa, # of ap classes, ec's) of a student admitted into a top college, not named Harvard/Yale/Pricenton(Ivy League)??

Google.
Realistically Standford is a reach for everyone.
Just try your best.
ECs: Do what you love over resume…

“A” grades
2200+ SATs
Superhuman ECs.
Even then, it is almost impossible to get into a top 5 school.

Just do the best you can.

Nothing wrong with shooting high.

Straight A’s, 20 APs, 2400 on SAT, 20 800 in SAT 2 , 36 on ACT, 2000 hours of volunteer worke, member of 20 club(must be a leader in 8 of them) great essay, great rcl, 25 awards. Then you’ve 65+% chance at Stanford.

How can we tell? Are we admisson committee?

They are both incredibly difficult to get into (sub 10% acceptance rate!). Do your best to distinguish yourself from the competition and hope that fortune favors you!

I’d read Admissions Confidential. Good start. >.>

Thank you for the very polite answers. If you don’t know you didn’t have to reply, I was referred to people who had gone to good colleges and what kind of things they did to get in.

That’s not what the OP says
