Duke ProHealth Life/Dorm..Yoga Contributions at Duke.

Hey,

As I plan on applying to Duke this fall, I want to draw upon some aspects of Duke that I have looked into. Particularly, I have been a fitness kind of guy not in the sense of D1 athletecism or huge weightlifting but rather in the 'keeping in shape' technique through yoga and workouts. I had actually worked in an underpriveleged area in another country, where I had facilitated my own fitness camp for small kids teaching yoga and basic gym workouts. In my app, I want to draw upon my Yoga skills as a way to promote a healthy atmosphere at Duke. I do not think it is a common activity that applicants mention. But as far as Duke goes, I have heard that Duke has these ProHealth, drug-free dorms. These seem like the places to mention my contribution in an overall health way. I am also a dancer, who plans to send a tape in, so I basically sort of learned Pilates yoga and other techniques from dance and external resources that I soon became more proficient at it. So any other ways I can bring out this skill into the duke Environment..?

thanks

ideas guys...?

I was thinking about takinga yoga or calisthenics class but they begin too early and seem tiring...i didn't see a pilates class, but that one was prolly already filled

but you'll find Duke people are very healthy, and there's lots of rooms dedicated to student led activities.

do you think it would be good to mention this in apps in terms of my yoga contributions?

Yeah, of course, it sounds pretty cool

thanks a lot.
