Alright fellow wisemen, I am in need of your knowledgeable opinions! I need to make a choice, and fast. What do you think...for a Cellular Biology major, Pre-Med student hoping to go on to medical school and do an MD/PhD and end up in medical research...
Duke University?
Rice University with a $10,500 yearly scholarship?
or UT Honors Program full ride?

What do you think? Let me know.

P.S. I live in Houston. I am an URM. I like the idea of having a life, but not a big party person.

What does your wallet say? Med school is going to cost another $100,000 or so. Figure out your cost of attendance for each school over four years, and add med school to the totals. Use a loan calculator to figure out how you would pay off a debt of that size.

Then list the other qualities that are important to you. To me, Rice and Duke are so close that I would eliminate Duke because of the expense. But that doesn't mean you can choose Rice without some tough decisions. Does your Rice scholarship require a certain GPA? Will you be happy staying so close to home?
