Hi everybody! I’m a current 8th grader and I took the ACT last year for Duke TIP. I got a 24 Composite, 17 in math, 24 in english, 24 in science, and 29 in reading. How do these compare to the average high schooler?
Google ACT percentiles.
Ironically, I came across this post today. I just got my SAT scores from the test I took through Duke TIPS about 6 weeks ago. (I’m in 7th grade) I scored almost what my parents got when they were juniors/seniors in HS. My parents say it is a great score for my grade. Anyway, the national average score is a composite of 20. So, compared to the average high schooler, you scored well. Especially as a 7th grader. I believe, personally, that you can definitely score a perfect 36 once you have retained more material as a highschooler and will know the information when you take the ACT in high school. To put this in perspective, 25% of scorers score 24 or higher, again according to the national percentiles. Which means even as a 7th grader (when taking the test) you performed in the 25%. Again, I’m not in HS so I can’t speak in that perspective, but just look up the average ACT scores. What I just mentioned is what I found.
