Duke Transfer Fall 2022

Didn’t see a thread for people that applied for transfer at duke this year so I made this. Don’t know anyone else who applied to transfer so it’s be nice to know some fellow students who also applied. Good luck to everyone!

My son applied, but we are not keeping high hope based on previous admitted states.
Thanks for making the thread though.

Ofc! I just wanted to find others who are also applying

Yeppp stats seem pretty tough. But wishing the best of luck to everyone! :relaxed:

Did anyone receive an interview invitation or knows when they come out?

No i still haven’t received anything

did u receive one? when do the interviews usually come out?

According to past forums, people began receiving interview requests on April 05th (for the 2020-21 cycle) and April 10th (for the 2019-20 cycle).

If I were to make an educated guess, I would presume interview requests to be rolling next week.

Got an interview request this afternoon. Kind of surprised since I submitted my application almost a week late (even though my regional AO said it was fine and that my application would still be considered) only after I got rejected from UChicago Transfer ED (it was a super quick turnaround, got denied March 18th, AO got back to me the 19th and gave me until the 21st to submit).

I do not think I am a top candidate, as my GPA is probably on the lower side of what people usually have, and I don’t have any particularly significant ECs, leadership, or any published research. Furthermore, I have already transferred once between T20 schools–although I think my reasons for transferring are valid since Duke has a unique program I really am drawn to.

what is your current school?

Duke’s portal still indicated that it hasn’t received my summer school transcript even though I sent it twice and emailed them twice about this issue without getting a response. Doomed :pensive:

Anyone knows how many students are offered interview for Duke or if not getting an interview till this point means decreased chances of admission?

I’m not sure how many interviews are offered, it’s probably based on how many alumni volunteers they have available and the time frame they’ve given them to complete the interviews. I dont think not getting an interview decreases your chances of admission, most of the time they’re just really curious to understand more about one part of your application and although they can help it doesnt necessarily guarantee that they will in the end. I also didn’t get an interview so ik the feeling but hopefully we recieve good news in about a month

Yea for sure. Best of luck to you!
