Official Fall 2019 Duke University Transfer Thread

Since there isn’t any thread on this yet, I thought I’d make one. Feel free to use this to connect and provide advice!! I’d also love to get to know you all. To start off, I applied as a rising junior in biomedical engineering

Hey! Applied as a rising junior in mathematics. Duke’s my dream school, but I’m fully aware it’s a long shot. It’d be incredible to spend two years there. Visited the campus for the first time not too long ago and it was just breathtaking!

Hi! Applying as a rising sophomore to Trinity College’s Program II(individualized major),fun fact I am a student from UNC hahaha

Is anyone having problem with getting documents into Duke? I submitted my HS and college transcripts months ago and they still haven’t received them.

Fellow applicant from NC state haha

When will duke release decisions

@kcasssuu no later than may 15

@BatmanRISENIMY thank you.

Did anyone get an alumni interview?

@cccccccozhao I didn’t, did you? I didn’t think that they did interviews for transfers.

I got one today, and in the email, he said, “all applicants to Duke University must interview with a university alumnus to be considered for admission.” It’s weird.

Would you mind sharing the full email?

@cccccccozhao

@TimJ00 He said he is an alumnus and will do alumni interview for me. He also mentioned that he needs to hand in my interview report before 4/21.

I did an interview with an alumna, but it is not mandatoyr for transfer students.

Does Duke conduct an interview for transfers?

I think they do, but not required.

I also got my interview request. Apparently it seems like not everyone got the interview.
Do they send interviews to people who they’ll accept or people who’re at the boundary?

@Faexpopuli did you apply to pratt or trinity?

@Faexpopuli they send interviews to applicants purely based on availability of interviewers. I got one this year and last year, but I know plenty of people who didn’t, it has no relation to your status as an applicant
