Duke University Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

I can’t wait to see once this is over what schools cared a lot about SATs and which didn’t. I heard Georgetown had like 92% of admitted submit tests (I saw this on tik tok though so I wouldn’t put any money on it).

Honestly same. I did 26 apps, and I am just exhausted. I just want summer to be here as soon as possible.

College usually seek to enroll a fair balance of test-optional kids.

yeah that’s because georgetown was so cryptic about wether or not they wanted testing. They said they were “test-optional” this year but then said that they strongly encouraged people to submit it

also for georgetown if you took a test at all you HAD to submit it because they arent score choice

It’s weird though and I wonder how much they care. I submitted a 1500 with my EA app then was deferred. Then I took the SAT again in december and got a 1460 but Since it’s test flexible I had to submit and still got in RD. Couldn’t explain it.

Keep in mind that SAT’s are only one piece to the puzzle of your application

Yeah that’s so dumb I feel like Georgetown has this weird entitlement factor. Like do you really need your own separate application? And like do you really need people to submit 3 subject test scores?

yeah they do. I got rejected tho so I guess I don’t need to worry about it anymore haha

Who here got an interview with Duke?

i did!

I did. Someone from who lived near me.

Yeah I submitted my app on Dec 22nd. I feel that Duke is gonna punish me for submitting it later to the deadline. Probably some points off on “Demonstrated Interest”.

Like why should they only offer them to those who submitted it before Dec 20th?

Holy cow that’s a lot. I don’t know anything about Florida schools but I think they required test scores for either in state applicants or OOS. Maybe I’m wrong and someone can correct me but I thought I heard that. Also, Purdue strongly encouraged test scores as did Michigan, even if you only submitted the PSAT. So it would be interested to hear the breakdown.

I do think that juniors have a slight advantage when they apply next fall because they should absolutely expect a ton of applications again, can decide how they want to use their scores now that they will know how that data has shaken out, and probably know they need to apply to more schools than our kids thought they were going to apply to back in August and have a lot of time to plan for that this summer which our kids didn’t have.

Something seems fishy with the submission date.

All applicants to state universities in Florida has to submit an ACT or SAT score.

they didn’t only offer interviews to applicants who submitted their app before dec 20th. it was like a priority deadline, so u have a higher chance of receiving an interview

Makes sense tbh. Public universities get so many applications and have to make quick decisions on them.
