So I am about to be a high school senior, and I am very interested in applying to Duke. I do not live in North Carolina. I really want to be a part of the Pratt school of engineering, but I'm not sure if my resume is strong enough to apply directly to Pratt. I am unsure if I should apply to trinity and then try to transfer. These are the highlights of my resume -

SAT Scores:
Verbal -800
Math -730 (should I take this again? and if so, what should I do about my verbal section when I retake the test?)

I make mostly A's and a few high B's (both in math classes, unfortunately), but am ranked in the top 1% of my class of approximately 500 students, at the most competitive public high school in the state.

I've taken 8 AP exams, including AP World, AP Euro, AP US history, AP Chem, AP Physics B, AP Stat, AP BC Calculus, and AP language and composition. I have passed and expect to pass all of these with 4's and 5's. I expect to graduate with another four AP classes -AP Macro econ, AP government, AP Literature, and AP Psychology.

I will also be participating in a research-based class my senior year, and will be competing in research competitions throughout my state.

I have yet to take subject tests. Is it better to take a variety of tests, or engineering specific tests?

I have been active in the following clubs for most of high school, and held leadership positions, won awards/achievements:
-FIRST Robotics team
-Science Olympiad
-National Beta Club
-National Honor Society
-Varsity Tennis team (I do not expect to play on the college level)

I have also participated in a paid mechanical engineering internship at my local university this past summer.

I am a very good essay writer and interviewer, and expect to do very well on those portions of the application. I do not plan to apply early decision, as finances at Duke are well... expensive.

If anyone could comment with advice, my predicted chances of getting in or getting money, any direction would be appreciated. Thank you!
