I have gotten into both schools...... I have visited williams several times since my sister goes there........I don't know much about duke......
what would be the cons and pros with these 2 schools??? i need help.....i will visit duke ASAP too....i know they are completely different schools...but....I just want your opinions thanks.~

If you are interested in research (esp. in science/medical areas), Duke has a huge advantage in faculty and facility resources over any liberal arts college.
Are you premed, prelaw? I would say if you're premed, Duke is a better choice because of the medical school and hospital on campus. Some would say it makes no difference to have those things, but if you are a smart premed, you will take advantage of those resources.
Williams has many advantages too, but I wouldn't happen to know them.
After you visit you will have a better idea.

Duke is better than Williams

pff...Williams is WAY better than Duke.

it just depends on what you want from a school...

Williams is better. Go there. Do not consider Duke.

Is that because you didn't get into Duke cavalier? God people are so transparent on these versus things.

They are very different schools. Personally, Williams is way too cold and remote for me and wouldn't offer nearly the same level of resources in my prospective major, but it might be a good fit for you. However, I would definitely go to Duke in that situation!

Williams for undergrad.

Cavalier was waitlisted at both Williams and Duke, so why shouldn't we trust his opinion?

Look at his profile on Xmatt's ******* website

He does, however, have an enviable list of schools.

Regardless of the fact that I was waitlisted at both, I just think that Williams is a better school. Williams had been one of my top choices, and Duke had been near the bottom of my list (I applied there because it's an OK school and is fairly close to me). Upon receiving the decisions from those two schools, I promptly filled out mailed in Williams' waitlist card, with the intent to stay on the waitlist. Duke's letter, however, was destroyed without being opened.

if you didn't open it, how do you know it wasn't a rejection?

Williams is a fine school, and you will get a great education at both, but I think that you will get more opportunities at Duke and have the benefits of a larger alumni network

I think people who say either is better than another know nothing. After a certain point all schools get lumped together by adcoms, both Duke and Williams fall into this category. And there are PLENTY of research opportunities at Williams.

Choose on quality of life. Hard choice.

ay_caramba, I found online first.
