<p>I was wondering how competitive dus is compared to smeal? My gpa and sat are at the low end of the middle 50 and I hear that Smeal is harder to get into. Also I intend to go into accounting and if I do take dus is there only a select number of enrollment even if I were able to complete all the required classes and grades?</p>
<p>From what I have read on these threads, Smeal is kinda hard to get into, but then again a lot of the colleges are. However, from my readings I learned that if you are denied to your major/college they’ll ask you you to switch your major to DUS or try reviewing your credentials for a branch campus but only the latter if you selected an alternative to University Park. But I would probably apply to the DUS and then transition into Smeal later on when you have your grades and GPA up.</p>
<p>Applying DUS and selecting Summer as an alternative starting semester give you the best chance of getting accepted to main campus vs. applying so Smeal with fall start only. But if you apply for fall, and select summer alternative and get into summer, then that’s when you have to go. You can’t “switch” from summer to fall… But, you can switch from fall to summer. Basically, fall is harder to get into than summer session, and Eberly is harder to get into than DUS. </p>
