DVC to CAL: OK to take a required course online?

Does UC admissions view a course taken online (at Diablo Valley College) any differently than a regular course?

I want to take a class at DVC this summer, such as ENGL-123 or ENGL-126, which is required for my major, but was considering taking it online. I am concerned that UC may not view online courses as favorably as regular courses.

I am currently a student at DVC hoping to transfer to CAL in the next 2-3 years. My major is Bioengineering (aka Biomedical Engineering).

Thanks.

The UCs don’t ask nor do they care if any of your required courses were taken online.

I guarantee that you’ll be fine.

Great! Thanks for the reassurance.

At my CC, the transcripts don’t even indicate the course was taken online.

@collin2012 No problem. @2016Candles same at my CC. Even if the UCs cared, they’d have no way of knowing unless they asked about it, and they don’t on the UC application.

Agreed! I will have a total of 25 units from online CC classes, most if which are from a CC other that the one I physically attend. I was accepted to UCSD.

Thank you all for your replies. They are very much appreciated.
