Hey guys, I just had a quick question about some college-level courses I took back in high school. I’m planning to apply for transferring next year and was just wondering how much are these classes going to affect me? They are obviously going to affect my GPA, but was wondering if anyone knew if they don’t look at these that heavily? I received a C in one of the courses, do you guys think if I explain myself, they would just completely ignore this C? It’s really ruining my GPA and was just wondering if there is a way to explain this or something so it could go away. Thanks.
Any class that is UC transferable will be considered in your application review. Did you check assist.org to see if this course is UC transferable? If it is a required major course it may effect you more than a non-major course.
@Gumbymom Thanks for replying. Yeah, that class that I received a C in was definitely a UC transferable course but it wasn’t a required major course.
Bump. Can anyone else answer my questions please and tell me if I’m screwed or not?
They do not completely ignore the C. I took several math classes at a college while I was in HS and I had to report the C to them. They do count it toward your application as it also applies under the math requirements. Any UC transferable courses (regardless of whether it’s part of your major or not, will be counted). I got a D in Calc at the college I went to in HS and retook it after I graduated HS and it was completely fine. I still got into Davis & Riverside (they were the only two UCs I applied to).
