<p>My daughters guidance counselor is encouraging her to send a video clip of her performances to Northwestern and a CD of singing to Yale as a supplement with the application because Northwestern doesn't do auditions and Yale doesn't have Musical Theater.
Does anyone have a sence of whether or not this is a good idea.
I don't want it to be like one of those bragging holiday cards.
Someone said that at Columbia they show the videos in a class so everybody can make fun of them.
Yet I also remember reading that someone thinks it helped her get into her stretch school.</p>
<p>I cannot comment on other schools, but Oklahoma City University does accept videos, CDs and DVD for admissions consideration. They do not need to be highly produced works, but the performer must be clearly seen and heard. You'd be surpised how many recordings are apparently not checked before they're shipped out! Also, make sure the student's name and contact info (either address or phone) are on the video..even if you just shoot it on a piece of paper.</p>
