I know applicants aren't supposed to send video of recitals or musical performances, but can I send a DVD of a theatrical performance?

Bump!
I also would like to know.

Or, indeed, a DVD clip of a movie I wrote/directed?

A SHORT clip of a movie you wrote/directed would probably be a good idea if filmmaking is important to you.

I'm hesitant about DVD's of acting...acting is a lot harder to judge from a 5-minute clip than violin technique. Writing about the roles you've had is probably enough, plus maybe a supplemental rec from your director if s/he's really going to rave about how you're the best actor to come through your HS in years. I might call Harvard to ask before sending a DVD.

That's probably the best idea! And I've already reconsidered the theatre DVD. I only thought of it because I wrote the scene (not the whole play), but the clip of the movie would be better. Thanks!

what about a dvd of a short dance performance?
