Dweinerman, answer please!!

Hey, I just received a letter from U. Rochester offering me a spot on the alternate list. I must say, it is the best "waitlist" letter I have received yet, and I'm not disappointed at all. But how exactly does it work? And do people from the alternate usually accepted, how are the statistics for that? Also, it says I can enter during the Spring 2010 term...is that true? Or am I just considered for that term and not guaranteed?

Xgreatescapex, great question. We do not know how many people will be taken off the wait-list, if any. It is too early. As for Spring of 2010, you will be considered for it; it isn’t guaranteed. Sorry if there was any confusion.

ahh…not guaranteed? well, that’s a little disappointing. how many people were accepted off the alternate list last year (rough estimate)?

Hey Dweinerman! I am an applicant from Seattle and I am just curious if all the letters have been mailed, my twin sister received hers today (postmarked mar. 31). My guess is the letter is probably held up mid-country right now because it is not rare if mail can takes a few extra days if trans-continental. What is your opinion on this issue?
Thank You!

On what criteria do you decide if a student will be accepted for Spring 2010? If you are wait listed do you also have the option to enter during the Fall 2010 Term?

Is it true what I’ve been hearing that nobody was accepted off the alternate list at U of R last year? Or in the past several years?

I’m concerned because I’ve been wait-listed also, and the University of Rochester is by far my number 1 choice.

Shoes I’m probably not going to accept my offer of admission (depending on FA at Emory), and I’ll try to recommend you if that even helps at all.

Well, do our chances increase if for the Spring 2010 term if we check off that box now? And also, granted that we get accepted for the Spring 2010 term, when do we receive our acceptances?

any1? 10char

That would be amazing if you could do that.
