E-bill and CARS

If I am receiving financial aid, do I still need to open an e-bill account? This is a stupid question but just wanted to make sure. Thanks

Hijacking this thread: when does the first bill for our tuition come?

Somebody answer our questions please!!! Isn’t mine suppose to be easy?

E-bill is the bill sent by the university to anyone who has charges - including of course registering as a student. Getting a bill is not optional. There is a simple profile you set up that would let you make online payments from a bank account yourself, but the e-bill itself is not an option.

CARS is the university accounting system that keeps track of everyone’s account. It is where each charge, credit, and payment are recorded.

What are optional are setting up a parent account to make electronic payments from a checking or savings account into CARS, and setting up a student’s account to receive any refunds in their CARS account.

The financial aid payments include money for books and other expenses that don’t get charged to CARS, which is why it is fairly common to have extra money after the finaid is paid into CARS. That comes to you. If you set up the optional Electronic Funds Transfer account pointing to your personal checking or savings account, then CARS will send those refunds into your account - the money appears in your account with no effort on your part.

Your parents can sign up for an e-check account which lets them send in payment online, or they can just use the one-time-payment method without registering an account.

The first e-bill for tuition will be issued this month with a due date of August 15th.
