If apply EA, can only apply one college or how many?

Every college has different rules about this. Some schools, like Stanford and Yale, have restricted EA, where you can only apply to one school early. Others, like Georgetown, say you can’t apply to any schools ED. Some, like UChicago and MIT, have completely open EA programs, where one can apply to other places both ED and EA. Go to the websites of the school’s in which you are interested and find out what rules they have.

Unless the school is SCEA (single choice early action), EA (early action) applicants can apply to any number of schools. If SCEA…just ONE. BUT as with all other EA decisions…the applicant, if accepted, does not have to make a commitment until May 1.

For ED…students can apply to other schools BUT if they are accepted at the ED school, they must withdraw all other applications and acceptances and accept the ED offer of attendance…usually within a couple of weeks of receiving the letter of acceptance. No waiting until May 1…no other college acceptances pending.

As mentioned above…check your college websites to make sure you are adhering to THEIR policies. YMMV.
