EA at Gtown or ED at NYU

Hey guys, so i have a dilemma... Georgetown has always been my favorite/dream school, however, realistically, I don't know if i now have a great chance getting in. My grades are a bit lower than their averages (but i'd like to think my ECs/recs make up for this). Anyway, another student at my school is also applying EA to Georgetown and her grades far surpass mine, she probably has excellent recs, but I definitely have better ECs than her (and maybe a few harder classes). I'm afraid that if we both apply from the same school, I'll be compared to her and fall short.

Now, I also really want to attend Stern and more specifically the BPE (Business Political Economy) program which is very competitive.

Realistically, which one should I go for? I'd love to go to both but I'd love to go to Georgetown more... but do I have a better chance EDing to Stern because of the comparison aspect?

I'm just anxious, please help!

anyone out there?

I can’t imagine that applying ED helps much if at all and it’s binding, so why not apply EA to Georgetown and then regular to NYU?

Apply early to the school you love. If you apply Early Decision to NYU and get in, are you always going to wonder What if? when it comes to Georgetown? I get the strategy aspect of ED to NYU, but really, even if you don’t have a great shot at Georgetown, if its really your dream school you may as well play every card you have.

thanks for your help! i think i just may apply ea at georgetown.

Hoya saxa!

I would do EA at Georgetown and RD at NYU so you can compare end results.

You can do EA to Gtown and then ED II to NYU I believe, since (correct me if I’m wrong); you’ll hear back from Gtown before the NYU ED II deadline?
