Hey everyone, I actually posted this in the main "College Admissions" section but now that I think about it, I would probably get more informed answers over here.

So...

I applied EA and have been deferred from Georgetown and UChicago. Along with these two I plan on applying to NYU Stern and Columbia. Now as I approach the January 1st deadline for Columbia and NYU I'm presented with two choices.
**
1. Apply to Columbia and NYU Stern via Regular Decision as planned.
2. Apply to NYU Stern EDII and Columbia Regular Decision.**

Reasons why I think I think I should apply NYU EDII:
[ul]
[] I think applying EDII could possibly help my admissions chances because it would let NYU know that they are my number one choice.
[] My 1st semester senior grades aren't the best (3.6 or 3.5 vs by overall average of 3.7) , mainly as a result of a pretty severe illness I had earlier in the semester (something my counselor said she would address in my mid-year report).[/ul]

Reasons why I don't think I should apply NYU EDII:
[ul]
[] Applying early decision instead of regular decision might not increase my chance of acceptance at all.
[] I could get accepted to both (which I really find hard to believe but it's a possibility), in which case I might regret applying to EDII (even though at this point I can't be certain that I would pick Columbia over NYU because I have not had a chance to visit Columbia's Campus yet.
[li] I may get accepted from one of my deferred schools (UChicago or Georgetown) and may change my mind (seems quite unlikely) for some reason and choose those over NYU. [/ul]
[/li]

Am I just worrying too much about this? Should I just let everything be and stick with applying RD to both schools, or should I give EDII a shot with the hope that it gives me an advantage which I otherwise wouldn't have.

Thanks!
