EA Catharsis Thread

tlak, i left you some peek info on the Gtown EA stuff in the Parents Forum. It made me feel better, at least.

Well, I'm in the library right now during my lunch break, wondering if it will ever be 3:15 so I can get home to the mailbox. I assume it's already sitting there; I don't think I can wait another day if it's not.

I'll be back on around 5ish (EST) to post what happened. 'Till then, wish me luck. :)

Tlak- I'm so glad you're not too too upset. As everyone else has said, you have a great chance RD. I'm really pulling for you. (And my guess is that the vote was 3-4. You are definitely a strong applicant)

Chin up, Mr. "Still a Hopeful Hoya!!"
Lauren

Oh and Josh, I have my fingers crossed!!! I can't wait to hear from you- remember to breathe (I sort of forgot when I saw the mailman come)

Congratulations, redr002!!! I'm so happy for you!!!! Hopefully we'll get to meet at Gtown!!!

:)

Thanks Lauren. My mom started crying she was so happy for me! This has been the best news. I feel like skydiving!

I totally know that feeling!! I'm still feeling like that and I got the letter yesterday!!!

Oh well. I received that unpleasant ultra-thin envelope containing only one piece of white paper. :(

I'm taking it a lot better than I had hoped. Luckily, I was very busy right after I found out, so it's very gradually sunk in. It does suck, but there are several other really good schools I'm applying to that I'd love to attend (and actually have a shot at!).

I'm definitely going to do all I can to get in April, though. I still have a chance. :)

Anyway, it's been a great couple of months hanging out with you guys, and I'm really happy for those who got in. I'm probably going to go on a little break from this board so I can focus on my other apps, but I'll be back in April for the RD letters. I'm going to hang around for the next week or so as I try to figure out what to send G-town in preparation for the RD round.

Thanks again for all your help. :)

Ohhh no, josh. I'm so sorry. Argh it makes me so mad that Georgetown can overlook so many qualified applicants. :(

If there's anything I can do to help, let me know. Don't give up hope about RD- you still have a great shot! I'm glad you're taking this decently, though.

I'm probably going to take a very long CC break too, but only after I finish all my apps. I totally understand where you're coming from about taking the break, though. Good luck with everything and it's been totally awesome hanging out with you! And seriously, let me know how I can help.

Lauren

Thanks Lauren. :)

i'm not giving up, i just keep saying "I'll get in"

Good, babybird!! I'm so happy to hear that!! And it's true, too. :)

Josh, you and me (and Nat/Babybird) will be concentrating on getting in for the April cycle. Hopefully, we can join the rest of our CC GUers...That'd be great, right?

No need to search for validation, Tlak. Of course that would be great. In fact, it would be stupendous.

It would be "hella" stupendous. :)

yep..on the list for this week:
1) counselor call
2) write a letter of why im so great they should let me in (lol)
3) send new sat scoress
4) get new recommendations from french teacher and boss who is a georgetown alum

And really, thats all I can do...

thanks, tlak, we must hope for Gtown 09 like never before!

I just got a Student Ambassador position...should I tell Gtown this? and why the heck couldn't they have given me this last year so I could have put it in my app? =)
