EA chances vs RD chances

Correct me if I am wrong....arent the acceptance rates to UChicago for EA very similar if not the same as RD?

Yes they are similar, but this year they will be lower for ED, probably also for RD but to a lesser extent.

GroovyGeek, this year's Chicago ED acceptance rate is zero, because they don't have ED! :) But, of course, regarding EA, I agree with you.

The advantage to doing EA is deferral. Apply EA- get deffered, BEG and send in more information, and then maybe get accepted. Apply RD and you dont' have the second chance- you get rejected.

Also, first choice housing for EA! ...not that that has anything to do with "chances".

I second DannonWater's comment, speaking from experience...

Assuming that you do get deferred and you start begging via e-mail, will they respond?
