EA chances

Could you tell me my daughters chances of getting in through EA in the Fall. Her SAT was M 710 V 670 Overall score was 2040.She plans to retake them in April. She is third in a class of 180. Her overall average for three years is 99.8. Honors and AP classes. She is in many service clubs , tutors, confirmation retreat leader, lector, select chorus. She should receive Nat'l Merit Commendation. She has been working PT all through high school. Plans to do additional volunteer work this summer. She hopes to attend the ND precollege summer experience. Her great uncle was a Holy Cross Father, teacher and rector at ND.

Chances look solid imo. I would say ND is a match/slight reach atm. If she can get her CR and W scores to 700+ I would say she is set.

It sounds like your daughter has a good shot. Everything looks pretty good. I'd say the only thing she needs to improve is her SAT- I agree with icebarracuda, if she can push her scores up over 700, she is set. Although, I don't think the writing score will be very important- they didn't consider it at all this year and I doubt it will be a major factor next year either.

I'm no expert in this but i can say that I was accepted as an nd scholar and your daughter's application would be better than mine in every area except for sat scores. I really dont know how much importance they put on those or anything but if i were to guess i would say she has a great shot at getting in.

You may want to have her try the ACT. I think she has a pretty good chance right now, and she is in almost for sure with a 1450 or a 33.

Thank you all for your responses. It is a unique process and your support and honest recommendations are very much appreciated.

You may want to post this on the main board, you will get some more responses. I know you already have my opinion, so I won't post again, but just FYI. I know I almost never come into the 2010 board just because I assume they are just talking about coming to ND and not admissions.
