EA - Class of 2019

@Jmbakh Thank You :slight_smile:

@crackingthesat Hi, actually I am not japanese, just a big fan of Naruto and anime though. I didn’t understand you :slight_smile:

Has any international student heard about EA results?

Thank you!

@duyvk1211 nope, not yet. We will probably hear by today (13th of Feb).

@overtheedge …So are you saying you received some grant money from Sewanee even though your efc exceeded the cost of tuition? So my D got the Wilkins and then TN hope (tn state lottery grant). We need a little more to make this work–but that would mean getting more aid than we should according to our efc. Hoping…

@swimmon2020 - my D received the Wilkins and then she got an additional 3K general scholarship. We applied for FA even though our EFC was roughly equal to the COA. The additional money came in April with the FA letter, not with the initial scholarship letter. Sewanee, like many schools, has a policy of not negotiating scholarships. I can appreciate that scholarship matching opens the flood gates. However, we were in a situation where I was (and am) truly struggling with that tuition payment. Sewanee was D’s first choice, but Rhodes gave her 20K. I called Sewanee and explained our predicament. They told me they don’t negotiate scholarships. End of discussion. Then the additional money showed up in the letter. It wasn’t huge (and the total still less than Rhodes), but it pulled it close enough to make it do able (with pain). D’s really happy there so I’m glad I was able to make it work.

@overtheedge well that makes me worry. Are you talking about your efc on the fafsa or efc on your css profile. My css efc is substantially lower. I think her letter is coming today. Yikes. Nervous.

Rhodes gave her presidential 23 plus another 4. Not sure we could turn that down…except she doesn’t like Rhodes.

Last year they didn’t require Profile so my EFC on the Fafsa. That’s a lot of money from Rhodes. Agree that it’s hard to turn down - especially being a comparable school. I hope Sewanee sweetens the pot for you. Good luck!

Thanks–letter should come tomorrow (so the FA office said). We have a special needs child (younger) who requires a lot of medical $$. I wrote a special statement to accompany the css I hope they have a heart. Otherwise another visit to Rhodes might be in order! She did like the library…

Hello Guys. I’m applying to Sewanee under the regular decision. Is it possible to convert to Early Action even though the deadline’s passed?!
