EA Countdown?

Let's get a countdown started for EA decisions. Does anyone know when they come out? I've heard second Friday of the month, meaning the 10th, but I don't really know. Mid-December is kinda ambiguous. Well, if it is on the 10th, we have 11 days!

that is soooooooooo scary. im gonna hate it when everyone from this board gets in, and i get the skinny envelope.

I'd say the 10th is a good date to have for the count down. Most people should get the decisions in the mail on the 10th , 11th, or 13th.

So I am sure many people will call on the 10th.

i bet they will.. i probably will. just because im a nutcase

hope i don't get rejected even though there is over 90% that i will :(

Apparently Stanford's definition of Mid-(insert month) is very broad, and ranges from day 15 to perhaps as long as the next month, as evidenced by their EA complete cards.

BUT let's hope that they'll have our stuff ready on time! I'm really going crazy and I need to know if I have to SERIOUSLY start working on the rest of my college applications.

Paul - last year.. apparently u were able to call on the 11th... which is the second friday... so maybe itll be the same this year?

Woah! We could call? I would call. They don't have some sort of online thing do they? Like the SATs?

Anyways, does it cost money to call, and who do we call? Is there a special 1-800-YOU-GOT-IN number?

Yeah, all decisions were available on the 11th last year, but that was last year. This year there are 1) more applications to process and 2) the deadline extension for applicants in the hurricane-affected regions. So I would not be surprised if decisions came a little later. Then again, since this is their second year of SCEA, maybe they can deal with these new issues more effectively and still get a prompt decision.

I don't know, I'll wait as long as I have to if I can get in : )

Hopefully someone will call on the 10th and then post letting us know what the deal is.

-Ender

Do they e-mail you if you got in? If they do, hopefully the title would give it away, either saying, "CONGRATULATIONS!!!" or "We're sorry, but...you suck." I couldn't handle clicking on the e-mail and waiting the agonizing seconds for it to load...it's worse than opening and envelope...well, maybe not...arrgh

they do email intls

Why would the extended deadline make such a huge difference? I mean they have to read some applications towards the end of the process, so just read those at the end, right?

That's a good point.

-Ender

yeah. i hope thats true.. but some colleges wait until ALL apps are in.. but then again, if they were going to do that, then they would have just extended the deadline for everyone, maybe? i dont know.. i cant be the adcoms.. i hate the adcoms..

haha rani, i know you know this, but the adcoms are just normal people doing their job. their job isn't to make life hard and difficult for us. don't worry about it now i guess. by christmas, we will all know =P

oh i know.. and if i actually put faces to the adcoms then i couldnt "hate them" but i hate the whole waiting thing... and the rejection that will come... (its better to be pessimistic at this point)

haha yeah i feel you. the waiting for the pending rejection feeling sucks

I try not to think about it too much. I've told myself that if I get the acceptance letter, I will immediately run. I'll just keep running on the streets like a fool. So in some ways, I don't really want that acceptance letter...maybe I do. Yeah, I do.
