I heard that UNC considers midyear grades for early action applicants, but I recently discovered that my first semester doesn’t end until Jan 20th, which seems a little late for UNC to consider into my decision. Can someone tell me what’s up?
Most public schools in NC have semesters that end somewhere around January 16, similar to your schedule. Grades probably won’t come out for another week after that. Thus, it would be impossible for UNC to consider midyear grades for many, if not most, of its early applicants. My advice is not to worry and not to bother the very busy admissions staff.
UNC does not consider mid-year grades for EA. Both of my daughters were accepted EA different years, and mid-year grades were self reported after decisions came out. Nothing to worry about.
